Heery Center for Young Families

The Heery Center provides trauma-informed Residential Services for pregnant and parenting adolescents between the ages of 12 and 21, who have been placed in the care and custody of their county as a result of parental abuse/neglect, PINS/JD behaviors, or other circumstances that have placed them and their children at risk of harm. The goal of this program is to provide a wide range of services to promote safety, education, and stability.

Services Include:

  • Independent living skills education (on both an individual and group level)
  • Parenting education and support
  • Educational coordination and tutoring
  • Medical care coordination and support
  • Clinical counseling to include youth, putative fathers, and/or primary resource person
  • Recreational therapy
  • Child care to enable youth to go to school, work, and/or participate in all activities associated with the program
  • Job opportunities and/or assistance with obtaining employment
  • Comprehensive psychiatric recommendations and assessment services
  • Permanency planning
  • Advocacy
  • Case management
  • Mentoring
  • Comprehensive discharge planning
  • Behavior modification
  • Supervised visitation and coaching
