The Heery Center provides trauma-informed Residential Services for pregnant and parenting adolescents between the ages of 12 and 21, who have been placed in the care and custody of their county as a result of parental abuse/neglect, PINS/JD behaviors, or other circumstances that have placed them and their children at risk of harm. The goal of this program is to provide a wide range of services to promote safety, education, and stability.
Services Include:
- Independent living skills education (on both an individual and group level)
- Parenting education and support
- Educational coordination and tutoring
- Medical care coordination and support
- Clinical counseling to include youth, putative fathers, and/or primary resource person
- Recreational therapy
- Child care to enable youth to go to school, work, and/or participate in all activities associated with the program
- Job opportunities and/or assistance with obtaining employment
- Comprehensive psychiatric recommendations and assessment services
- Permanency planning
- Advocacy
- Case management
- Mentoring
- Comprehensive discharge planning
- Behavior modification
- Supervised visitation and coaching
