Community Maternity Services (CMS), an agency of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, was founded in 1971 as a single residential program providing services to pregnant adolescents. The agency has grown through the years to meet the changing needs of the children, adolescents, and families in our communities. Today, Community Maternity Services provides a continuum of services, including for pregnant women and their families, through parent education and case management services. Community Maternity Services also provides residential programs for youth in foster care, respite services, and counseling support in two Albany City Schools.
To enhance the quality of services we have been providing for over 50 years, Community Maternity Services values the residents and recognizes the strength in those individuals we have the privilage of serving, through utilizing a trauma informed approach to treatment and healing.
